Job Description:
The Senior Manager Procurement will be responsible for
overseeing the sourcing, negotiation, and management of the
procurement process to ensure the organization secures high-quality
materials, goods, and services at competitive prices. This role is
crucial for driving cost efficiencies, ensuring supply chain
reliability, and supporting product innovation. The Senior Manager
will lead procurement teams, build relationships with suppliers,
and collaborate with cross-functional departments to meet the
company's strategic objectives.Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Procurement Planning:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the
company's business goals and market trends.
- Forecast and manage demand planning to ensure timely and
cost-effective sourcing of materials and goods.
- Drive innovation by identifying new suppliers, products, and
processes to improve the supply chain and product offerings.
- Supplier Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers,
ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery
requirements.
- Lead supplier selection, evaluation, and risk management to
ensure reliable and ethical partnerships.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and agreements to secure the best
possible pricing and service levels.
- Cost Management & Optimization:
- Develop cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product
quality and supply chain efficiency.
- Monitor key spend categories and ensure procurement is aligned
with budgetary goals.
- Implement data-driven decision-making tools to optimize
procurement operations and identify opportunities for cost
reduction.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals,
fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous
improvement.
- Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and support
career development within the procurement team.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and
ethical standards.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with supply chain, production, finance, and R&D
teams to ensure that procurement aligns with overall business
objectives.
- Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and suppliers to
ensure timely resolution of supply issues.
- Support new product development and market expansion
initiatives through effective procurement planning.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain,
including disruptions, supplier failures, and geopolitical
factors.
- Ensure business continuity by developing contingency plans for
critical suppliers and materials.
- Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and regulatory changes
that could impact the procurement landscape.
- Technology & Process Improvement:
- Leverage procurement technology tools such as ERP systems to
streamline processes and improve procurement accuracy and
efficiency.
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
to enhance procurement effectiveness and productivity.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and
procurement innovations to maintain a competitive edge.Key
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management,
Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant
certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) preferred.
- Experience: 8+ years of procurement experience, with at least 3
years in a leadership role, preferably in the consumer goods
industry.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic thinking
skills.
- Proven experience in supplier relationship management, contract
negotiations, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Knowledge of procurement technologies, ERP systems, and data
analytics tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the
ability to influence stakeholders and lead teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a
fast-paced environment.Competencies:
